NiX: Theatre of Snow and Ice

Created by The Only Animal, NiX combines fire and ice in an explosive love story to create an extreme theatrical adventure! Bundle up and enter Canada's first theatre of snow and ice, constructed at Whistler's Lost Lake. NiX is a frozen fantasy, complete with a flaming tuba, a snowman death scene and an explosive love story that will melt the coldest of hearts. This is a theatre for winter lovers. Enjoy pre-show drinks in the exclusive ice bar.

Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre
Feb 1 - March 21 | By donation
In celebration of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, admission to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre will be by donation from February 1st to March 21st, 2010.  The Cultural Centre will be the focal point for Aboriginal art and culture in Whistler, offering a variety of Aboriginal Performers including Hoop Dancers, theatrical plays, storytellers, and musical performers from the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations, as well as other Canadian and International Aboriginal Groups.

Whistler Live!
February 12 to March 21, 2010 | Whistler Village

Whistler Live! is an outdoor network of stages, screens and performance sites throughout Whistler Village that will provide unique, free programming each day throughout the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Over 27 days, Whistler Live! will combine sport with live music, films, street performances and visual arts featuring artists from the Sea to Sky corridor, across Canada and around the world.

Whistler Medals Plaza will be the centrepiece of Whistler Live!. Produced by VANOC, Whistler Medals Plaza programming will showcase nightly Victory Ceremonies with athlete medals presentations and concerts. As Host Mountain Resort, Whistler also has the honour of presenting the Closing Ceremony for the Paralympic Winter Games at this venue.

Whistler Live! ArtWalk
February 12 to March 21, 2010 | Whistler Village
Whistler Live! ArtWalk is a Whistler Village-wide exhibition of Sea-to-Sky Corridor visual artists in host gallery spaces during the 2010 Winter Games. It features the work of regional artists in Whistler cafes, retail outlets, commercial galleries, hotels and restaurants. Artists from Lions Bay to Lillooet showcase works of painting, photography, multi-media, pottery and jewellery. Whistler Live! ArtWalk promotes the cultural pillar of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and offers regional artists a chance to showcase their work while the world is here.
